## How To Prepare for Your Professional Cleaning

One of the most common questions we get from new clients is “Is there anything I need to do before my cleaning appointment?” The answer is, yes! There are a handful of things you can do to ensure an effective clean and a great experience for you and your cleaner.

Before your Betty arrives for your clean, take a moment to:

- Put away items whose home isn’t obvious.
  
  When it’s unclear where something belongs, it could end up where it doesn’t belong. A favorite shaving mug, for example, could find its way to the kitchen cabinet rather than the bathroom counter.
- Remove loose items from surfaces.
  
  The more you clear your personal papers and belongings from surfaces, the more time your Betty will have to actually clean.
- Want help tidying and picking up?
  
  Discuss this with your client service manager beforehand. We want to know your priorities so the majority of our time is spent meeting your needs.
- Clear up dirty dishes.
  
  Don’t sweat that morning’s cereal bowl or coffee mug in the sink, but remember: *as a general policy, we don’t wash dishes.*
- Need extra tasks completed? Give us a week’s notice.
  
  If you need something done beyond the standard clean, (fridge cleans, oven cleans, or an extra deep spring clean), contact us at least one week in advance. We may need to add an hour or two to your regular cleaning timeframe or call in an additional cleaner. Giving us a heads up at least a week before helps us plan ahead and give you an accurate cost estimate.

## Adjusting Your Cleaning Schedule

Need to adjust your regular cleaning schedule? We’ll do our best to accommodate your needs. Simply reach out to client services, and together we’ll find a time that works for you and your cleaner.

That being said, we don’t recommend changing your schedule too often, as a reliable schedule benefits both you and your cleaner. Maintaining a consistent schedule helps our Bettys maintain consistent hours and income. This consistency helps us keep the most professional and committed cleaners (i.e., the ones you want cleaning your space!) on staff.

Schedule changes are sometimes unavoidable. We get it — life happens! Our policy ensures cancellations are handled in a consistent manner that gives our clients and cleaners some predictability.

We use Maid Central to streamline scheduling, communication, and billing. Here’s how you can easily pay your cleaning bill:

We review invoices for accuracy and charge them to the payment method on file the following business day, unless other arrangements have been made. Your payment method also serves as a security measure for any past-due balances.
